Pilgrim
Why is she named Pilgrim? Well I can see her taking a long journey.
The amount of work that has been done to her is second too none, fully poly-brushed, koni adjustable shocks, resent brake over haul.....the receipts add up to thousands......
So why a journey? The paintwork is not that good, unfortunately she suffering from the old silver paint problem where the top coat is pealing off the primer. However, her body is in a good solid condition so I can see a wrap coming on!!! But what colour???

Work has now started
Work has now started, the cylinder head has been removed & is now being machined as the engine wasn't running as it should, due to most of the valve not seating.
It will be rebuilt with a new water pump, cam-belt, tensioners, camshaft seals & cam-angle seal, plus a full service!
Also the bodywork has been started ready for the wrap, the colour is going to be purple/black flip.....the interior will carry this as well.
I've a new idea for the brake calipers but I'm not going to say anything yet just in case it doesn't work!

Head now rebuilt
The head has now returned from the machine shop, cleaned, skimmed, with all the valves & seats recut . The cam-cover has also returned from being enameled with purple flake detailing.
With the head all rebuilt the engine will be running tomorrow...........all back together will post some photos of it later.....
Now on to the brakes....yes I know it looks a lot of work, but as the only way to be sure the brakes are working as they should, you have to strip them to make sure the pads are free, sliders slide & the pistons move. As they're all apart you might as well dress it all up! The extra time I think is worth it, the overall finished effect looks so much better......

That's the brakes all sorted
All the brakes have been bleed, the fluid replaced, rear calipers adjusted, handbrake movement checked. Yes that is purple metal flake the calipers have been painted in. Just trust me it will go with the final look of the car!
Things to do next while waiting for the wrap to arrive; replace the oil in the gearbox, diff and the turret plus turret seal, consider the design for the seat covers and order them...strip the bumper off to help with the wrapping.......still loads to do, plus a lot of silly little things that take the time.....
Well the wrap swatches have arrived all but the one I was thinking of using! The best place to see the colours as they change, is on the car itself. Yes she's looking rather moth eaten but I've got the make sure the surface is smooth or it will show through the wrap once it applied.

More metal flake! Plus wrapped interior bits
To carry on the theme of the car, I've metal flaked some of the dash parts, the air vent rings & the ashtray door.
Due to the weather, it's not going to be an easy job, as it's far easier to do in the warm.

The main wrap has started!
Not much to say apart from the main panels are now being wrapped, which with this vinyl take time due the material can't be stretched to far as it changes the effect of the flip!
More photos of the wrapping!
And now the finished shoots!!!
